In my last post I covered a Review of WordPress Themes by Templatic as part of my ongoing series of blog posts featuring reviews of my Top 20+ Sources for Pixel Perfect Premium WordPress Themes. This week, I’m reviewing what is most probably the Grand-Daddy of WordPress Theme marketplaces, ThemeForest WordPress Themes, a marketplace which I often use and I’m sure you will too once you begin discovering the wealth of WordPress design talent on offer at ThemeForest.
With hundreds of designers and developers offering more than 2600 themes, we’re the largest marketplace of its kind for WordPress themes, site templates and CMS themes. – ThemeForest WordPress Themes
Introduction to ThemeForest
There are many of these so-called “marketplaces” for just about every type of product or service you may need when doing business online, but I’d like to explain why ThemeForest is different and why they have become my first stop when I’m on the hunt for quality website templates, CMS templates or WordPress Theme designs for one of my many web design projects.
Imagine being able to have just one account that let’s you buy and sell everything from stock audio to fully developed web templates that are professional, focused on web standards and usability, and available at absolutely rock-bottom prices! Envato (the company behind ThemeForest) has not only built the best marketplace for WordPress Themes and HTML Templates, they have created similar marketplaces for video files, pre-built coding solutions, web graphics, and flash files just to name a few.
WordPress Themes at ThemeForest
ThemeForest is a marketplace in the Envato network that specifically caters for WordPress Themes and HTML Templates. If you’ve ever found yourself searching for a single source for a massive selection of high quality premium WordPress themes or website templates, then ThemeForest is the marketplace for you.
With over 2600 different premium WordPress Themes to choose from, I can safely say that you will most definitely find your perfect premium WordPress Theme in the extensive ThemeForest marketplace. ThemeForest has WordPress Themes from all the main niche categories: blog, magazine, creative, corporate, retail business, technology, non-profit, entertainment, miscellaneous, ecommerce, BuddyPress, responsive, html5 and many others.
My Favourite ThemeForest WordPress Themes
Let me just say that I have too many favourite WordPress Themes to list when it comes to ThemeForest, my favourite WordPress Themes folder is already brimming with over 200 themes which I have bookmarked and cannot wait to deploy on upcoming projects. So, take a look through my favourites folder on ThemeForest to see what I think are some of the best commercial WordPress Themes available today.
ThemeForest WordPress Themes Support Forums
When it comes to support, ThemeForest has to do things a little differently owing to the fact that there are so many theme developers in the marketplace. Although ThemeForest support operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, the support of individual Themes is left directly to the developers.
ThemeForest provide four main support channels:
Discussion Section – Here you can post your issues and the theme developer will address them. The response time and helpfulness varies among different developers. I have seen many developers not taking care of their customers or not providing theme updates, so always do your homework before purchasing a theme to ensure that there is active theme development (updates) as well as reliable support available. Keep in mind that ThemeForest does not make the authors provide support. It is optional.
Theme Documentation – ThemeForest has requirements about what type of user documentation is included with each theme in order for customers to be able to get started using the file/s they purchased.
Forums – Many of the top authors setup their own private forums for customer help and support.
FAQs – Not every Theme has this section.
ThemeForest WordPress Themes Pricing
ThemeForest offers one of the lowest prices among the various WordPress Premium Theme Markets today, with the exception of those who provide freebies of course. The prices for quality WordPress Themes range from as little as $30 to as much as $60 per theme, depending on functionality, complexity and developer preference.
A few times each year, ThemeForest offers a “bundle’ of different marketplace items (typically from many of their different marketplaces), and these are typically great values for consumers and may include not only WordPress Themes, but plugins, design elements, stock images and much more.
My Advice for Choosing Quality Themes
My advice for making your theme selection a breeze is to spend a little more time researching your potential choices to ensure that not only do themes get regular updates, but also check the user comments and feedback on the developer to ensure that theme documentation, bug foxes and user support are all solid.
So, go ahead, check out ThemeForest today and prepare to have your WordPress Theme universe expanded!
